Mr. Tan Kien Leong has distinguished himself as an educator and innovator in the fields of IoT and AI, actively participating in training and coaching since his master’s studies at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka. His dedication to enhancing the knowledge of undergraduate students speaks to his commitment to education and the advancement of these technologies.
His research interests span deep learning, computer networking, and surveillance camera system design. This work has been supported by the Graduate Research Assistance Scholarship Program under the CREST R&D Grant, indicating recognition of the value of his research contributions.
In 2019, Mr. Tan played a crucial role as a backend developer for the “Smart Traffic Junction” project, a testament to his technical skills and innovative thinking. This project was selected by TM ONE as part of the 5G Demonstration Project (5GDP), a program run by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
Simultaneously, he served as a research assistant at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka, where he worked in collaboration with Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) Melaka on the project “AI Traffic Melaka – Fourth Industrial Revolution Approach in Optimizing Traffic Light Signal”. This project further exemplifies his expertise in leveraging AI and IoT for practical, real-world solutions.
He is currently the co-host of the YouTube channel ‘Jom! Let’s Sembang AIoT’ alongside Ts. CC Lee, where they share insights on AI and IIoT technologies for industrial applications.”
Mr. Tan is currently a co-founding CTO of AIoTmission Sdn Bhd and he is also associated with Axiomtek Malaysia as an AI Solution Architect, where he plays a key role in designing AI-based solutions. He is also an HRDC-accredited trainer serves as an AI Trainer at AIOTMission, using his extensive knowledge to impart vital skills to others. His qualifications include being an Intel-certified Edge AI developer, which further bolsters his position as an authority in the field of AI and IoT.
